Writing Exercise 3 Length 750 Words
Compare Two Movies By One Director
For this writing exercise, your task is to compare two movies by a single director and find both a stylistic/thematic connection that those movies share and a stylistic/thematic connection that they do not share.
This is a four-paragraph assignment. The first paragraph should describe the results of your comparison. The second paragraph should point to one stylistic similarity between the two movies you chose and describe the thematic resonance that stylistic similarity creates between the movies. The third paragraph should point to a stylistic difference between the two movies you chose and describe the thematic dissonance it creates. The final paragraph of this exercise should consider the results of your comparison now that your reader has moved through your analysis.
You can choose any director you like for this assignment, as long as they have a distinctive style and use that style to offer a unique worldview to viewers. It would be wise to use the same director for this assignment you plan to analyze for your third paper.
Remember: this should be formatted in MLA style. You should have in-text citations with timestamps for the scenes you choose. You should also have a works cited page for the two movies you have chosen. All papers without citations, a works cited page, and proper formatting will be returned for correction before they receive a grade.
