For your first essay, you should develop an argumentative thesis, support it with good reasons, and acknowledge relevant counter-arguments. While you do not need to use any research for this argument, if you draw on one of the NYT readings or other sources, cite them properly using MLA style or another documentation style.
This argument should be three pages in length and should include a separate cover sheet that looks like this:
