· Study and implement counters using Flip Flops
· Explain the operation of Synchronous Counters
· Determine the sequence different counters
· Understanding Up/Down Counters
The term synchronous refers to events that have a fixed time relationship with each other. A synchronous counter is one in which all the flip-flops in the counter are clocked at the same time by a common clock pulse. Note that in all the designs shown below the right most flipflop is used for the least significant bit.
Explain their operation by completing truth table for inputs/outputs or a state transition diagram.
