Students should choose an advocacy activity (e.g., Contact state legislator, school board member,
attend IEP for child other than one in your class), participate in it and complete a 3-5 page essay
about their experience. Students should describe the activity and their role in it, people that they met,
and any impact that the experience had on their feelings toward the autism community.
