Logic Model Assignment

S‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍tudents will identify one program to focus an evaluation plan on. Students will research this program and submit a logic model, along with a description of the elements of the logic model (why they are appropriate to the program/strategy you are focusing on for the purpose of your proposed evaluation plan). Turn in: • Logic Model for the program of choice (use template in Moodle) • Paragraph explaining organizational background/overview, and connection to elements of the logic model (below the logic model template) Required elements of the logic model are: • Inputs (resources and/or barriers) • Activities • Outputs • Short-Term Outcomes • Long-Term Outcomes (referred to in the Kellogg logic model guide as “Impact”) he assignment will be graded based on your ability to speak to each of the following. You should address each point and do so thoughtfully and coherently. • Relevant inputs are appropriately listed and labeled. • Relevant activities are appropriately listed and labeled. • Relevant outputs are appropriately listed and labeled. • Relevant short-term outcomes are appropriately listed and labeled. • Relevan‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍t long-term outcomes are appropriately listed and labeled. • The “organizational background/overview, and connection to elements of the logic model” section is concise, appropriate, and coherent. • It is clear from the logic model itself and from the “organizational background. . .” section what the program does, and how the different parts connect to one another. • The scope of the proposed program/strategy could feasibly be evaluated. • Though Kellogg gives you a rule of thumb, there is no firm rule about how you will determine what is a short- vs. a long-term outcome, apart from the fact that short-term outcomes should precede longer-term outcomes. This may vary depending on the nature of a program. The long- term outcomes should include “ultimate” outcomes that you hope may be affected by the program of interest. • Note that the size and scope of the program, or activities associated with a given program matter. You should be focusing your attention on something that could feasibly be evaluated were you to receive a contract to do the evaluation. As such, scope is important not only in the program itself, but also in what woul‌‍‍‍‌‍‍‌‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‍‍‍‍d be required of the evaluation, of your time, etc.
