Graphs
You are going to present your responses to the project in a PowerPoint. I want to be able scroll through and see your answers, your graphs, your edits to them, etc.

1. Find a map of data any will do. Please share it with me and do a quick write up on why that data is important to you. Why did the maker of it decide to share it with others? How could you have made it better? It would be best if it were an interactive map. Why are maps a great way to demonstrate data? As a person who cares about statistics, why do I care that folks in different places experience different things and have different opinions on things? Add the link to where you got the info.

2. Find a statistic that speaks to you. Prepare a presentation to present the data. It should include graphs. Try flashy to get me to get involved, to care, to want to make a difference. Make me cry, get me to stand up and HOLLER! For instance, you care about hunger or crime or something. You want me to get involved, likely by getting off my wallet and opening it. I will need to be impressed to do that. How are you going to go about that? Add the link to where you got the info.

3. Extra credit: If you can get me the info and a brief demo that you made of a gis program like google fusion tables, that would get you extra credit. Edit Fusion tables (coolest freaking thing ever) has been non free-itized so no longer an option. You can create a free account if you wish at Arcgis and create and share maps there. So you could for instance do poverty rates by county in Oregon or similar.
