Most—if not all—of you have posted a story to Instagram, Facebook, WordPress, or another visual social media site at some point. This assignment gives you the opportunity to build on the storytelling skills that you already have by incorporating techniques that photographers have long used in order to tell a story in pictures.
There are three parts to this assignment: first, you will take a series of photographs that incorporate the elements outlined in the instructions posted to Moodle, and then you will arrange these into a narrative series of photographs that incorporate the elements outlined in the instructions and share your photo story using Adobe Express. When you share the link, you will provide a brief (200-250 words) critique that outlines what went well, and what you would have done differently.

These are the design elements that you need to put in place.

Research: research may include peer-reviewed academic research, interviews, case studies, information from magazines or social media—anything that provides a background to your project or helps you complete the project, including planning the project
Storytelling: the profcasts and in-class sessions have emphasized the essential elements of storytelling using visuals, infographics, photography, and other kinds of design
Design: the product needs to be high quality—excellent design, beautiful photography, evocative storytelling, excellent planning, high-quality execution
Reflection: each project should have a 1-page written reflection where you describe your experience of the project, what you think went well, what might have been better, and what you learned along the way

Projects submitted without properly referencing all words, quotations, allusions, ideas, images, or other support materials are considered plagiarism and will receive an automatic grade of 0.

You can submit as many files as needed for each project
You can upload almost any kind of file (except HEVC, HEIC, or PAGES)
