Respond to a classmate’s post addressing the bullet points below: This is the post for the classmates post that I need help with—-

A research problem statement:
Indwelling urinary catheters stay in the male population with difficult or small anatomy longer than necessary. This increase in the time with an indwelling urinary catheter leads to a greater risk for a catheter-associated urinary tract infection.

A statement of purpose for the research:
To test the use of an external male catheter, named male purwick, on use with patients with difficult or small anatomy where indwelling urinary catheters are used longer than necessary.

A research question:
Does the male purwick decrease the number of indwelling urinary catheter days in the male population with difficult or small anatomy?

A statement that describes if you would you use a simple hypothesis or a complex hypothesis; a directional hypothesis or a nondirectional hypothesis; a research hypothesis or a null hypothesis and why you chose this type of hypothesis.

I would choose a directional hypothesis because I feel that I can specify the existence and expected direction of the relationship between the variables of male purwick and decreased indwelling urinary catheter days in males with difficult or small anatomy.

Your beliefs if the quantitative research methodology is the most appropriate methodology to answer this question or if this problem would be better answered using the qualitative research methodology. Why?

According to Polit and Beck, quantitative research uses more precise measurement and quantification, which would prove to be more rigorous. Due to quantitative analysis having more rigorous qualities, I believe that would benefit this question more, giving a numeric value.
