Essay: What is the most inventive or innovative thing you have done?
Tips for what to include in the answer:
– What is expected from the innovation?
– What is the scalability of the innovation? How is it allowing for scale and automation without adding more resources / removing manual work?
– What is the breadth of impact of the innovation?
– Sphere of influence. What was the buy in and how was it achieved?

Paragraph 1 – Introduction – This short paragraph (approximately 5 sentences) should include an introduction to the topic, a summary of the main points of what you’re going to write about, and the results. Also, you should provide a brief answer to the question – state explicitly the innovation or judgement call that you made.
Problem Section – PAR structure – what is the background and the problem solved.
Action Section – Corresponds to the A section (Action) of the PAR structure. Should be the longest section. Must say how I solved the problem that I mentioned in first paragraph: What was my innovation. Should be included in the first page of the essay.
Results Section – Corresponds to the R section (Results) of the PAR structure. What is the outcome of your judgement call or innovative idea?

Below is the essay story in short:
Situation: In one of my previous jobs, one of my tasks was to lead the relationship with business partners in the Middle East and ensure the services offered to clients were in line with our companies’ standards.
Task: Following my discussions with our channel partners and from my experience with stakeholders and end customers, I understood the necessity of developing a tool to increase the productivity of our channel partners and every salesperson in the organization.
Activity: My manager was impressed with this brilliant idea, and I offered to implement this software that will not only help our channel partners to minimize their risk of submitting the wrong-designed solution but also will help them generate an estimated cost on the spot and then be able modify the requirements in accordance with the budget allocated to the project. In the end, I created two software, one for generating the wiring accessories offer based on the Bill of Material provided by the customer, where the salesperson had to select the product range, Product name, The design/finish plate color, and material, quantity and as a result will have the proposed solution with part SKUs, unit price and total value.
The second software for generating the designed solution for Smart Building based on the shop drawings and customer requirements where the salesperson had to indicate the number of light points, type of light, load per room, to determine the designed solution for lighting control. As for the HVAC, the salesperson has to indicate the number of thermostats and the type of AC. For curtains control, the salesperson had to indicate the number of windows, type of curtains, and motor for automating the curtains. Last but not least, for Audio/video had to indicate the number of speakers for each room mounting type. The IoT devices per room to control the above systems could have been either wall-mounted or wireless (electronic lighting control switches, Thermostat, Curtain control, Audio/video control and touch screen) and the customer had the possibility to combine room together ro control individual.
Additional, from the touch screen the customer could control the Video Intercom, Garaje gate, landscape, pool, CCTV cameras and any other appliances inside the home.
By filling in all the details, the customer could have an idea how much will cons and then adjust in case is out of his budget. He could also decide on having automation only for few room while remaining will remain stand alone.
Result: The result of having those tools implemented was that I managed to increase productivity by 60% after just 1-month and business growth by 35% in less than a year. I am very proud of my achievement and special knowing that these tools created by me in 2013 are utilized up to date.2- Innovation
