2- Article Analysis

3 attached documents have been attached. The first document is the article to read, and the second document is titled “use this template” to answer, analyze, and respond after reading the article. The third document is an example of the completed template to show the expectation of how it should be. Please use the attached article to read as a reference in the AMA style citation at the end of the template document and other relevant studies that you think it supports the attached article to read.

The background should include the most relevant facts or literature directly related to the topic that explains the context and reason for the article. (For example, JAMA article, Pubmed or CDC website).

Graphs may be copied from the study, assuming they are readable, but tables should NOT be copied directly from the study. Any table material used in this format should be recreated in the word document (may tailor to your needs for the study).

Likewise, phrases and sentences should NOT be copied directly from the article into the template handout. Use your own words and comprehension.

The only exception will be that you can copy a phrase from the authors’ conclusions, but multiple sentences should not be copied, even in the authors’ conclusions. You should be able to put the authors’ conclusions in your own words for the most part.

Study background and purpose: Accurately report major background information explaining the need for the study and the overall purpose.

Methods: Accurately reports study design, all treatment interventions, patient groups of the study (included/excluded criteria, subgroups), endpoints, and basic statistics

Results: Completely and accurately summarize population characteristics (baseline characteristics), outcomes (primary, secondary, and safety), and any applicable subgroup analysis

Study analysis and critique: Provide 3 or more thoughtful strengths and limitations of the study. Is able to further discuss the limitations.

Conclusions: Provides clear and accurate author conclusions and your conclusions.

The template should not be more than 3 pages or less than 1 page. 2 pages are ideal.
