This is a 7-10 page paper (double spaced, APA style, page requirements do not include the title page and references) that provides an analysis of your
chosen topic. There are four components to your submission:
1. Provide a descriiption of why the topic is important to leadership, especially for students. This is the “sell” for why you thought it was important to design a
half-day workshop/experience around it.
2. Scholarly: Research and report existing scholarly work on the topic. You can also cite media and popular press articles, as well as popular leadership
books on the topic. You must have at least 6 citations in your paper.
3. Personal: Personal relevance to the topic, or how you have seen it play out in your own leadership journey. You can link it to your own leadership
philosophy, leadership traits or values, or your personal leadership story. You can complete self-assessments on the topic or ask for feedback from peers and
colleagues to help you understand how others see you.
4. Cultural/Societal: Apply the topic to historical or current events, leaders, at the campus, local, regional, or global level.
