Write an essay that addresses all of the following:
• In your own words, summarize the news event.
• Following the textbook definition, explain the concept in your own words.

that we have covered this semester that helps address this problem.
Provide the textbook book definition and be sure to give attribution (citation) for this
definition.
Explain why you believe this news story is an example of the way in which the concept
you have identified operates in society.
In one or two paragraphs, explain why it is important to be able to view this news story through the lens of
the concept you have identified. In other words, how does applying
this concept to the news story help us to better understand society and enable us to
address the social problem identified in the news story?
You must include a Bibliography with a citation for the news story and your textbook.
