Literature review based on the question : “What are the effects of excessive social media use on adolescents’ wellbeing?”
– Construct an introduction that identifies 3-4 themes from the literature
– Discuss the themes in the literature, describing similarities and differences between texts
– 3 to 4 themes maximum from no more than 4 journal articles used throughout the literature
For each theme:
• Identify the theme and explain the context
• Discuss the key arguments / findings in the literature and describe the similarities / differences between 1-2 of the 4 other articles for this theme
• Analyse the literature, and make an evaluative statement
Conclusion:
• Summarise key findings
• Evaluate the literature, and suggest areas for future research i.e. identify a gap and why it would be important to research (what impact could it have?)
*I have attached 3 journal articles which can be used* (NEED 4 ARTICLES MINIMUM)
Examples of themes include:
Mental health (anxiety, depression)
Body image (disordered eating)
Sense of self (cyberbullying)
Must include in-text referencing (APA Style 7th Generation)
