Project 1 will consist of using typography to create a poster. The final output size will be 24×36 inches. You are to choose a subject matter of your choice. The poster can be an expressive thought, a bible verse, for a non-profit organization, or even a corporate client.
– For the first week, you will put your thoughts into writing by choosing your content and explaining what your objective for the poster is. Conduct research on the subject matter and develop a “story” which you plan to tell visually. To tell an interesting story, you need depth of knowledge that viewers will be intrigued by. Secondly, you’ll gather visual references. Create a visual mood board that strategizes your visual approach. This will show what style and mood the poster will have. Will it be contemporary, retro, sleek, or have a flair of modernism? Lastly, for the first week, you’ll create your initial draft in InDesign or Illustrator. Put together your strategy digitally (and present it on the discussion board.)
Remember that this is a typographic poster. Be sure to make the type be the main driving force behind the poster and have any other visual references to be the supporting cast.

– For Week 2, you will revise your digital design. You should be focused on fine-tuning your typographic poster. (Submit as many revisions as possible to the discussion board so that you can perfect the design.)
(In the discussion board,) create a webcast either by Quicktime Screen recorder, Screencastomatic, or any other screen sharing tool and present your typographic poster in the discussion board for others to review.
