Choose and identify a sub-field in sociology (e.g. Soc. of Medicine, Soc. of Family, Soc of
Education, Soc. of Death & Dying, Soc of Religion, Research Methods, Soc. of Gender, Soc.
of Race & Ethnicity, Political Sociology, etc.).
1. First, explain your understanding of a sub-field of sociology.
(This will require some research – I recommend starting with the American Sociological Association (ASA) site http://www.asanet.org; many of these sub-fields have ASA “sections.”)
2. Next, find one peer reviewed journal article in your chosen sub-field (no more than 3 years old). Describe the article (what was the purpose, findings, conclusion, recommendation). Explain why you selected this particular article and how it contrast with your research topic. The submission should be at least 250 words.
3. Comment to at least two of your peers.
