Instructions
As business organizations are formed and grow, an organizational structure is typically adopted. When an organization’s internal or external environments or circumstances change, the organization’s structure may also need to change. Four or five basic organizational structures have developed over time. These include functional, divisional, matrix, and international structures. Managers need to be aware of and understand the basic structures used in organizations to utilize the most effective form in their organization. Many organizations use a blend of multiple structures.
• Prepare to engage in discussion describing the four basic organizational structures and how they operate. If possible, provide specific examples from your own experiences.
• Initial post due by Wednesday. Write a 200-word post addressing the points above. Be sure to include information from appropriate texts with proper citations.
