To help you to begin to build the mental habits associated with opportunity recognition, please prepare and submit a document that includes a series of DATED ENTRIES focused on:
observations of people’s complaints, pains and problems
listings of resources that you can use to pursue opportunity
listings of your passions, skills and experiences
reflections on new technologies, social trends or open innovation opportunities
discussion of any specific problems or solutions you’ve started to think about
There are no specific formatting or length requirements, as this is ultimately a document for you that should live and grow well beyond this course.
This is an individual assignment with a maximum grade of 25 points. Grading will be based on the inclusion of all five of the elements listed above as well as the quantity and thoughtfulness of your observations/listings/reflections/discussion.
The opportunity notebook should be submitted in an electronic format (you can scan handwritten pages, if necessary) and is due at the end of the course.
