Hurston Book Review

Minimum Criteria: 1500-2000 words, Size 12, Times or Helvetica Font. The Book Review should include a thorough summary of the book, but that must not take up more than 40% of the total text. The summary should provide the main thesis of the book, comments on the research methods, and show that you read the entire book. What makes this a book review rather than a book report is that you are not just summarizing, but also providing an evaluation of the author’s work. A good analysis should include, but is not limited to, an evaluation of the challenges met by the author, a comment on the methods used, inclusion of concepts presented in the class, and an informed opinion by the author. Praise and criticism for the author are also important components. You do not have to like the book to get a good grade, rather my interest is that you write an opinion that is based on evidence from the book ( or on what the book is lacking). Moreover, this should make up most of the text you present no less than 50%.
