Cultural Responses

For this lesson, you are to use this week’s articles about Culturally Responsive Schools. This assignment will focus on comparing and contrasting how the authors of these articles approach the subject of a culturally responsive classroom for students. In your compare and contrast, you will be looking specifically at these factors:

Research: what research do both articles cite that is similar?
Approaches: are there approaches described in both articles teachers can use that are similar or different?
Use this document ( focused compare and contrast week 2.pdf focused compare and contrast week 2.pdf – Alternative Formats

) to help organize your thoughts as you prepare you Compare and Contrast Essay (see below).
The activity culminates with drawing conclusions about the two articles in a 400 to 600-word essay that includes proper APA formatting and references (in-text and an end of essay References page) that integrates the findings of the Compare and Contrast activity in addressing the following prompt:

What important ideas do both articles present to design classroom structures that are responsive to students at-risk?

You do NOT need to submit the completed compare/contrast activity along with the final product.
