Creating Effective Learning Environment For Secondary Students

Details of task: Our research communication event is based on a research poster session at which you will
present, defend and discuss key aspects of your research study in education.
Your research poster (AT2) is accompanied by a reflection report (AT3) submitted after the poster session.
The poster should use words and visuals to:
• present the research topic, research question(s) and rationale for the study.
• show key points and implications arising from your review of relevant literature.
• present and justify the study approach and methodology (include any ethical considerations).
• present your key findings and the implications of your work (from your data/results).
The reflection report on your research should:
• identify the contribution to the field of teaching and learning made, reflecting on the appropriateness of the
topic and research design
• demonstrate that the data generated have been rigorously analysed, in line with recommendations from
your literature review, textbook, support material and class sessions
• discuss the significance of the project findings for professional practice. What insights have been gained
from the study? How does the research literature inform, support or qualify your findings?
• provide a concluding summary that also includes reflection on the limitations that the study may have had,
and any potential for future research in this topic area (e.g. from formative feedback and reflection during
and after the poster session).
• include a reference list. (This is not included in the word limit).
• include an Appendix with your research tools (interviews/surveys etc. – you decide if you want to attach the
whole or just part of each). The appendix may also include any additional data or useful information that was
not utilised in the report, but should be referenced within the report (this is not included in the work limit).
The poster is equivalent to 1200 words, the accompanying research reflection report should be 1200 words.
