How Commedia Del Arte is described. Do you agree?
A couple of resources to help you decide:
1. National Theatre Live explains the characters of commedia del arte – otherwise known as “stock characters”
2. After watching, explore how many appear in comedy of the 20th Century. (Example: Do you see elements of any of these in Ross Geller from Friends? Or in an Adam Sandler Film? Perhaps you recognize elements of stock characters in other films or Romantic Comedies.)
3. After watching, make connection between one or more of the characters in commedia to your example. Explain why.
