The shipment will benefit more than 2,500 doctors and nurses in Sri Lanka.
This shipment is part of the UAE aid to assist other countries in fighting COVID-19 to stop the spread of the virus.
UAE aid includes 5 tonnes of N95 respirators and surgical masks and personal protective materials (PPE).
The UAE has sent an aid plane from Abu Dhabi with medical supplies to Sri Lanka.
It includes personal protective equipment (PPE) for healthcare practitioners (doctors and nurses) helping them save the lives of others while safeguarding themselves.
Dinesh Gunawardena, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, explained that the donation will help thousands of Sri Lankans protect themselves.
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is protective clothing, helmets, goggles, or other clothes or equipment designed to protect the wearer’s body from infection.
