For this assignment, please write a research paper that uses at least eight sources.
The object of this assignment is to build your own investigatory project that examines the influence that movies have on one another over at least two decades. Because of the nature of this semester though, I am allowing students to use some of my work.
If you choose to build off what I’m doing, you need to include at least two new films that are not on the syllabus, and you need to find two of your own magazine articles and one academic article.
Though I have designed this unit to think about Jordan Peele’s relationship to older horror movies, please do not feel controlled by the personal interests that led me to structure the unit in this way. You have great flexibility. This is your project to conceive, design, and execute. Find a topic that interests you. Investigate it. Then develop a perspective out of your research that you think a reader will find compelling.
For this paper, you should:
-Develop a unique and demonstrable argument -Ground your essay in specifics
-Strive for clarity
-Use at least eight quality sources
-Write at least 2000 words, not including your Works Cited page -Conform to the grammar standards of American English -Include a Works Cited page

This assignment is designed to help you develop a richly-sourced research paper. An annotated bibliography shows not only the breadth of materials you have examined in your research but also a depth of understanding about what you have read and watched.
An annotated bibliography is usually composed of entries that provide information to readers about where they can find the sources you have discovered in your research. In this sense, they have an affinity with the Works Cited pages that we developed for Papers 2 and 3.
Annotated bibliographies take this work further though by also offering an account of two things: 1) what each of your listed sources says on its own terms and 2) how you envision their contents advancing the project that you have undertaken.
Once you have completed your annotated bibliography, the bulk of your research should be processed and ready for your use in writing. At the same time, you should have also created a document that recreates your path to the expertise you use in your paper so readers can follow that path more easily.
This annotated bibliography should have eight annotated sources. Each source should begin with a properly formatted works cited entry. It should then have an at-least-50-word paragraph that describes the source’s contents. And it should end with another at-least-50-word paragraph that describes what purpose you see the source having in your research.
