THE FOLLOWING ARE THE ASSIGNMENT DETAILS FROM MY PROFESSOR.

1. By class time on Tuesday, April 14, and even if you have already talked with or written to me about this, you will email to me and post on a discussion board the titles of at least THREE scholarly sources that you will read to inform your research, along with information about how you found them. 250 words is a good guideline. Pass/fail. I will reply to you with brief comments by email.

Books are ideal sources. Ebooks are fine and in many cases available through the Baruch College Library website: (https://guides.newman.baruch.cuny.edu/ebooksdatabases)

If you cannot access books, scholarly journal articles are also acceptable. You must acquire your articles through Baruch library website. Here is a list of online databases that are useful for historical research:

At least one of your journal articles must come from JSTOR, the premiere database for scholarly journals in the humanities. JSTOR is available through a link on the alphabetical listing of databases at Baruch: (https://guides.newman.baruch.cuny.edu/c.php?g=188338&p=3582824&j)

2. You will email to me and post on a discussion your research question. The word count is not important, but the quality is. What are you trying to figure out? What is the puzzle you aim to solve in your paper? Pass/fail. I will reply to you with brief comments by email.

3. You will email to me and post on a discussion board a draft of the first paragraph of your final paper. This should include, at the least, a statement of your research question and a preliminary discussion of that question’s importance. Why does it matter? This paragraph will serve as a road map to the rest of your paper. 250 words is a good guideline. Pass/fail. I will reply to you with comments by email.

4. They should be at least 1500 words in length and include documentation of all quotations and sources. We will discuss the format of the documentation as the date approaches. Graded A-F.

You should also be certain to address the feedback I have given to you on the individual steps of your research project.
